Food Service Cook, Part-Time

Memory Care at The Lodges is looking to add a part time Cook to the Team at Memory Care Lodges. The cook will be responsible for cooking and serving up to three nutritious appetizing meals per day depending on shifts scheduled. May move into a Full Time position.

Location: Olympia, WA

Accountability: Reports to the Dietary Manager, Nurse Manager and the Campus Administrator


  • WA State Food handlers Card
  • Knowledge of safe food handling techniques and sanitation procedures
  • 1 Year work experience in commercial or institutional setting
  • Ability to comprehend oral and written communication in English

Schedule: Thursday/Friday:  1:00 – 6:30; Saturday 7:00 – 6:00; Sunday 1:00 – 6:30 (25 hrs/wk appx) with opportunity for on-call additional hours.

Salary: To be negotiated during interview process. Starting pay is generally $13.75/hour. Rates depend on qualifications and experience of applicant.

  • Ability to work with and around residents with memory or cognitive impairments
  • Knowledge of safe food handling techniques and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to follow and prepare food according to recipes
  • Familiar with therapeutic diets and able to prepare and serve according to diet orders

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works Shift rotation as assigned
  • Maintain clean work area
  • Prepare, Store and Serve meals using safe food handling practices
